On 24 January 2019, a range of infant nutrition products based on rice protein was recalled by a manufacturer following the detection of salmonella. These products come from a Spanish production site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The French health monitoring system has identified several cases of Salmonella Poona salmonellosis in infants under 2 years of age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four infants were infected with the same strain by consuming these products a few days before symptoms appeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

400,000 boxes were recalled, with products distributed exclusively in pharmacies, through charities and online sales sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day after this recall, another competitor whose products are manufactured at the same Spanish site withdrew 16300 boxes of infant milk as a precautionary and preventive measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
