{"id":520342,"date":"2025-04-16T15:28:22","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T13:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=520342"},"modified":"2026-03-13T14:38:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T13:38:22","slug":"food-physicochemistry-seven-new-afnor-standards-integrated-into-our-analysis-methods-520342","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stagingphytocontrol.shdesign.fr\/en\/news\/food-physicochemistry-seven-new-afnor-standards-integrated-into-our-analysis-methods-520342\/","title":{"rendered":"Food Physicochemistry: Seven new AFNOR standards integrated into our analysis methods"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p><b>Since 2015, <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/nos-analyses\/valeurs-nutritionnelles\/\"><b>Phytocontrol&#8217;s Food Physicochemistry department<\/b><\/a><b> has been fully committed to an ambitious project to standardize analytical methods for nutritional labeling of food products.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This long-term commitment has now come to fruition with the publication of seven AFNOR standards, which have been integrated into our analysis methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Standards published for greater harmonization<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The standardization process reached major milestones in 2024 and 2025 with the publication of two sets of fundamental standards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Set 1 \u2013 Published in May 2024:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><b>NF V03-032<\/b>: Food products \u2013 Determination of nitrogen content using the Kjeldahl method \u2013 Calculation of protein content.<\/li> <li><b>NF V03-426<\/b>: Food products \u2013 Determination of fat content.<\/li> <li><b>NF V03-802<\/b>: Food products \u2013 Determination of ash content.<\/li> <\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Lot 2 \u2013 Published in March 2025:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><b>NF V03-801<\/b>: Food products \u2013 Determination of loss of mass on drying.<\/li> <li><b>NF V03-033-1<\/b>: Food products \u2013 Determination of sugar content. Part 1: Method by liquid chromatography (high pressure) with refractometric detection.<\/li> <li><b>NF V03-033-2<\/b>: Foodstuffs \u2013 Determination of sugar content. Part 2: Method using high-performance anion exchange chromatography coupled with pulse amperometric detection (HPAEC-PAD).<\/li> <li><b>NF V03-034<\/b>: Food products \u2013 Qualitative extraction of fat for the determination of fatty acid composition.<\/li> <\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These standards define a <b>common methodological framework<\/b> that allows for better comparability of results, strengthening the reliability of data provided to the food industry and consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Scientific recognition in progress<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to promote this collective approach, an <b>international scientific publication<\/b> is currently being drafted. Entitled: <i>\u201cNutritional labelling: a collaborative study to develop standardized methods for protein, fat, sugars, mass loss after drying and ashes in food\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This work aims to present the scientific and technical foundations of standardization: protocols, collaborative tests, statistical processing by BIPEA, and the results obtained.
