First notifications from the RASFF regarding PFOS in dairy products and beef.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 23 November, the first European alert (Notification 2023.8121) for PFAS was triggered following the detection of a concentration of 0.53 \u00b5g\/kg of PFOS in beef during an EU inspection. EU regulation 2023\/915 sets a maximum level for PFOS in beef at 0.30 \u00b5g\/kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One week later, on 29 November 2023, a new PFAS alert (Notification 2023.8228) took place, this time classified as a potential risk, concerning the detection of a concentration of 0.046 \u00b5g\/kg PFOS in semi-skimmed condensed milk. Recommendation (EU) 2022\/1431 sets an indicative value for PFOS in milk at 0.020 \u00b5g\/kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
