It acts as a<strong> sprout inhibitor during the storage of foodstuffs<\/strong>. This molecule is <strong>only <\/strong>authorised <strong>on potatoes<\/strong> intended for human consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regulation 2015\/399 set the Maximum Residue Limit at 15 mg\/kg on potatoes, and 0.01 mg\/kg on all other matrices<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1,4 DMN as a substitute for CPIC in potato storage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chlorpropham (CIPC) <\/strong>has been the most widely used product for decades to control sprouting in potatoes during storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stagingphytocontrol.shdesign.fr\/en\/veille-reglementaire\/end-of-use-for-chlorpropham\/\">Regulation 2019\/989<\/a> banned CPIC and the use-by date for this pesticide residue had been set for October 2020. In France, stocks of of this product could be used until 8 August 2020. Following this ban, a temporary MRL for chlorpropham on potatoes was set at 0.4 mg\/kg by <a href=\"https:\/\/stagingphytocontrol.shdesign.fr\/en\/veille-reglementaire\/publication-regulation-2021-155-amendments-to-mrls\/\">Regulation 2021\/155<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>One of the alternatives to CPIC is 1,4 DMN<\/strong>. Although the MRL is set at 15 mg\/kg, tubers treated with a phytosanitary solution containing 1,4 DMN should not be fed to animals.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anses.fr\/fr\/system\/files\/phyto\/evaluations\/DORMIR_PMUS_2014-3374_Ans.pdf\">conclusions of the ANSES evaluation of the MA application for the DORMIR preparation<\/a> state that no study has been conducted to estimate the level of residues in foodstuffs of animal origin. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our solution dedicated to the food safety of fruits, vegetables and cereal products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Phytocontrol laboratory is able to analyze under COFRAC accreditation 1,4 dimethylnaphthalene at a limit of quantification of 10 ppb on the following matrices :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list_chevron_right_orange wp-block-list\"> <li>water-rich products,<\/li> <li>acidic and water-rich products,<\/li> <li>products rich in sugars and low in water,<\/li> <li>products low in water and fat,<\/li> <li>alcoholic beverages,<\/li> <li>fruit and vegetable juices,<\/li> <li>soft drinks<\/li> <\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Need technical, regulatory and pricing information?
