The European Commission has\njust published a database of marketing authorisations for plant health\nemergencies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Searches can be made by\nkeywords, country, active substances, authorised use, period of validity. The\nnotifications submitted by the applicant Member State are available as well as\nthe history of old authorisations which are no longer in force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a reminder, according to\nArticle 53 of Regulation (EC) No 1107\/2009: “in particular circumstances,\na Member State may authorise, for a period not exceeding 120 days, the availability\nin the market of plant protection products for limited and controlled use,\nwhere such a measure is necessary because of a danger which cannot be contained\nby other reasonable means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Member State concerned\nshall immediately inform the other Member States and the Commission of the\nmeasure taken, providing detailed information on the situation and the measures\ntaken to ensure consumer safety. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n Where uses of these emergency\nderogations would result in pesticide residues exceeding the existing MRL, as\nprovided for in Article 18(4) of Regulation (EC) No 396\/2005, the marketing\nauthorisations should be immediately notified to the other Member States, the\nEuropean Commission and EFSA, together with an appropriate risk assessment,\nwith a view to the setting of a provisional MRL for a specified period or the\nadoption of any other necessary measures concerning those products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
