The implementing decision (EU) 2019\/1562<\/a> has just been published in the OJEU.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
It amends Decisions 2007\/305\/EC, 2007\/306\/EC and 2007\/307\/EC as regards the tolerance period for traces of Ms1xRf1 hybrid oilseed rape, Ms1xRf2 hybrid oilseed rape and Topas 19\/2 oilseed rape and products derived therefrom.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In 2007 the European Commission decided to withdraw Ms1xRf1 hybrid rape, Ms1xRf2 hybrid rape and Topas 19\/2 rapeseed and products derived from them from the market.<\/p>\n
A transitional period of 5 years has been provided for during which products intended for human or animal consumption could contain this type of material (in proportion of 0.9%) without being considered non-compliant.<\/p>\n
This deadline has been postponed twice via implementing decisions (EU) 2012\/69 and 2016\/2268.<\/p>\n
It is postponed a 3rd time via the enforcement decision (EU) 2019\/1562.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This decision indicates that the presence of these GMOs in food and feed products is tolerated until 31 December 2022 provided that this presence:<\/p>\n
– is fortuitous or technically unavoidable; and<\/p>\n
– It does not exceed a proportion greater than 0.1% by mass fraction.<\/p>\n
