Phytocontrol expands its analytical offer: pesticides by hydrolysis

We are proud to announce the evolution of our analytical offer on pesticides with the development of a new method by hydrolysis, accredited by COFRAC.

Phytocontrol is the only laboratory in France to offer you this method of analysis by hydrolysis under COFRAC accreditation.

Herbicides, a well-known family of pesticides, are active substances that include a wide variety of chemical compounds whose toxicity varies according to the active forms of each substance.

Why hydrolysis screening ?

Currently, the contamination of foodstuffs by herbicides is a major health issue at European level. The European Union has therefore set Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs), including a definition of residues for each herbicide.

Some herbicides have complex residue definitions that include both the acid, ester and conjugated forms of the active substances in question (the metabolites). The usual methods of analysis by pesticide screenings do not provide an answer to this question. These residue definitions require the implementation of a specific analytical method including a hydrolysis process.

This new solution enables us to comply with current regulations and to quantify all the acid, ester and conjugated forms of herbicides in record time!
