Review of the FOOD Risk 2020 international conference

On January 30 & 31, 2020, the first FOOD Risk international conference was held in collaboration with the “Université de Nîmes” and our analysis laboratory at the Novotel Atria in Nîmes. This first edition was a real success: 270 participants, 41 speakers and 34 partners were mobilized to defend the theme of food safety.

These two days, made up of conferences, debates and round tables, were animated by Jérôme BONALDI, figure of the scientific world. The opportunity for participants to exchange and discover the various solutions of Food Fraud and Food Safety (authenticity, traceability, digitalization…) by speakers such as INTERPOL who spoke on the management of known risks and the anticipation of emerging issues or INRA with the future of food packaging substances: cross-contamination, migrations… The participants enjoyed a free time with the possibility to discover the Phytocontrol analysis laboratory and visit the Museum of Romanity, new in Nîmes.

As a major French and European player in the fields of food safety and authenticity, Phytocontrol was keen to carry out an event that would be worthy of what we do on a daily basis. The idea was to bring together all the actors, opinion leaders, technological leaders: all these themes, in Nîmes, in a major seminar such as FOOD Risk ” Mikaël BRESSON, founder and president of Phytocontrol Group.

As a result, the ORIGO project, a technological platform dedicated to the safety and authenticity of agri-food products, initiated by Phytocontrol and the “Université de Nîmes”, supported by the Occitanie Region and Nîmes Métropole, is part of the continuity of the conference and the dynamics of innovation of the territory.
The organisers of this first FOOD Risk edition would like to thank all those who helped make this international conference a real success. ???? To stay informed of FOOD Risk news, subscribe to the FOOD Risk newsletter: www.foodrisk.eu
